Kristin Sornson (she, her, hers) is a licensed clinical social worker who works with adults (19+) in individual therapy. She has over 15 years of experience in the assessment and treatment of anxiety, obsessive-compulsive, and related disorders. This includes Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), social anxiety, generalized anxiety, worry, panic attacks, agoraphobia, specific phobias, perfectionism, hoarding, body dysmorphia, trichotillomania (hair-pulling), excoriation (skin-picking) and tic disorders. She also has experience in the treatment of depression, trauma and eating disorders.

Kristin uses evidenced-based practices, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Prolonged Exposure (PE), Habit Reversal Training, Behavioral Activation and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She is person centered, develops individualized treatment plans with her clients and includes support people when necessary. Kristin has worked in numerous levels of treatment, including residential, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient.

Education

Kristin holds a Bachelor of Arts in Art Therapy from Mount Mary University and a Master’s in Social Work (MSW) from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and the International OCD Foundation.
