Dr. Barr is trained as a generalist and works with adolescents (14+) and adults with various personal concerns. Her areas of interest and practice include depression, anxiety, stress management, and adjustment. She has experience working with various phase of life challenges including adjustment throughout adolescence and young adulthood, parenting, and life transitions. Dr. Barr's approach is grounded in the Humanistic respect for and trust in an individual's ability to generate change, and a focus on the development of an authentic and caring therapeutic relationship. Dr. Barr uses a cognitive behavioral approach and integrates Motivational Interviewing and wellness strategies to support individual goals.

Education

Dr. Barr received her doctorate in Counseling Psychology from the University of Oregon. She completed her internship and postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Wisconsin-Madison's Counseling and Consultation Services.
