Becky Cherkasky works with adults and adolescents (12+).

She treats a wide range of issues, including depression, anxiety, eating disorders, trauma, mood management, behavioral and emotional dysregulation, self-harming behaviors, suicidal ideation, relationship struggles, low self-esteem, parenting skills, self-exploration and self-empowerment, bullying and life transitions.

Becky has extensive expertise in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and specializes in treatment for symptoms related to Borderline Personality Disorder in both adults and teens in individual and group therapy settings.

DBT is the foundation behind much of her therapeutic approach and is used in conjunction with other empirically validated and effective treatments based on each individual's needs. She also believes strongly in the use of validation, the need for skill-building, and the power of self-awareness, compassion and of the therapeutic connection to help patients reach their goals.

Special Programs/Groups

Becky facilitates a DBT therapy group for adolescents (which also consists of a parenting skills workshop), a DBT therapy group for adults, and a DBT therapy group for those struggling with disordered eating.

Education

Ms. Cherkasky received her undergraduate degree (BA Sociology) and certificate (Jewish Studies) from University of Wisconsin-Madison and graduate degree (MS Marriage and Family Therapy) from Edgewood College.
